Uncompressed Apple audio — for Mac music and production apps

🔒 Files never leave your device — everything runs in your browser.

WAV and AIFF are the same idea from two worlds: uncompressed PCM audio, wrapped by Microsoft in one case and Apple in the other. Most modern Mac software reads WAV happily, but plenty of audio workflows still standardize on AIFF — older versions of Logic and GarageBand, classic samplers and hardware, mastering houses with fixed delivery specs, and iTunes-era library conventions. When the spec says AIFF, this converter rewraps your audio in your browser.

Because both formats store raw PCM, the conversion is lossless in the truest sense: the samples come out bit-identical, only the container and byte order change. File size stays essentially the same — uncompressed is uncompressed — and your file's original name is kept, with only the extension changing.

How it works

  1. Drop your file

Any common format, any size. Nothing is uploaded — the tool runs in your browser.

  2. Convert

Compatible files are repackaged instantly with zero quality loss; others are hardware-transcoded at high quality.

  3. Download

Your converted file is ready on your device — nothing to wait for, nothing to delete from a server.

Frequently asked questions

Is WAV to AIFF really lossless?

Yes, genuinely — both formats hold raw uncompressed PCM samples, so the conversion rewrites the container around the same audio data. Nothing is re-compressed, and quality is bit-for-bit identical.

Why does my Mac software want AIFF if it can read WAV?

Convention and metadata: AIFF carries Apple-style metadata more predictably, and older Logic, GarageBand, and sampler workflows were built around it. Delivery specs from mastering and licensing houses often just say AIFF and expect exactly that.

Will the file get smaller?

No — AIFF is uncompressed like WAV, so expect the same size. If you need a smaller lossless file, convert to FLAC instead; for lossy delivery, M4A or MP3.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. ConvertUno runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your file never leaves your computer or phone — there is no upload at all.

Is it really free, with no watermark?

Yes. Processing happens on your device, so serving you costs us almost nothing — no watermark, no account, no file-size limit, no daily quota.
