JPG, PNG, WebP — any size, no upload
🔒 Files never leave your device — everything runs in your browser.
Screenshots tools, exports, and scanners love producing PNGs — even when the content is photographic, where PNG's lossless storage costs five to ten times the size for no visible benefit. Upload forms with size caps, email attachments, and web pages all prefer the photo in JPG.
This converter does the translation at high quality on your device. One honest caveat built in: JPG has no transparency, so transparent regions are matted onto clean white — fine for photos and screenshots, wrong for logos, which should go to WebP instead. The result downloads instantly with metadata stripped.

Frequently asked questions
How much smaller will my PNG get as a JPG?
Photographic content typically drops 70–90% — a 5 MB screenshot of a photo becomes a few hundred KB. Flat-color graphics shrink less and may show slight softening at sharp edges; keep those as PNG or WebP.
What happens to the transparent background?
JPG cannot represent transparency, so transparent areas become solid white. For logos and cutouts that need their transparency, convert to WebP instead — it compresses well and keeps the alpha channel.
Will text in my screenshot stay readable?
At high quality, yes — text stays crisp for reading. If the screenshot is dense with fine text and you want pixel-perfect edges, PNG remains the better home for it.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. ConvertUno runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your file never leaves your computer or phone — there is no upload at all.
Is it really free, with no watermark?
Yes. Processing happens on your device, so serving you costs us almost nothing — no watermark, no account, no file-size limit, no daily quota.
