WAV is raw, uncompressed audio — the format of recording software, audio interfaces, and sound libraries. Beautiful to edit, brutal to share: a one-hour WAV recording weighs around 600 MB, chokes email, and wastes phone storage. The same hour as a top-quality MP3 is roughly a quarter of that, and it plays everywhere.
Because ConvertUno runs on your device, even huge session recordings convert without an upload wait — the reason this beats server-based converters for exactly the files WAV produces. Keep the WAV as your editing master; send the MP3 to humans.

Frequently asked questions
How much smaller will my file get?
Around 4x at our top-quality MP3 setting — an hour of WAV audio (~600 MB) becomes roughly 140 MB with essentially transparent quality. We deliberately encode at the highest MP3 tier rather than the thin 128 kbps many converters default to.
Do I lose quality converting WAV to MP3?
MP3 is lossy, but at high-quality settings the difference is imperceptible for normal listening. For archiving or further editing, keep the original WAV — for sharing and playback, the MP3 is what you want.
My WAV is over a gigabyte — will this work?
Yes — the file streams from your disk without uploading, so large session recordings are exactly the use case. The MP3 output is a small fraction of the input size.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. ConvertUno runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your file never leaves your computer or phone — there is no upload at all.
Is it really free, with no watermark?
Yes. Processing happens on your device, so serving you costs us almost nothing — no watermark, no account, no file-size limit, no daily quota.
