JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, SVG — any size, no upload
🔒 Files never leave your device — everything runs in your browser.
ICO is a specialist: Windows icons and favicons, understood by browsers and operating systems and almost nothing else. The moment an icon needs to act like a normal picture — pasted in a document, uploaded to a form, previewed in a chat — it needs to become one, and JPG is the format nothing rejects.
ICO files often pack several sizes of the same icon; the conversion renders the best available version as a standard JPG, entirely in your browser. For icons with transparent backgrounds, PNG is the alternative that keeps the transparency — JPG fills it with a solid background.

Frequently asked questions
My ICO contains multiple sizes — which one converts?
The best version the browser decodes — in practice the largest, sharpest image in the file. Tiny legacy sizes inside the icon are ignored in favor of the highest-quality one.
What happens to the icon's transparent background?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a solid background. If the icon must stay transparent, convert to PNG instead — that path preserves the alpha channel.
Why does the JPG look small or pixelated?
Icons are tiny by design — often 16 to 256 pixels — and conversion cannot invent detail beyond what the ICO contains. The output is faithful to the largest size the icon actually holds.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. ConvertUno runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your file never leaves your computer or phone — there is no upload at all.
Is it really free, with no watermark?
Yes. Processing happens on your device, so serving you costs us almost nothing — no watermark, no account, no file-size limit, no daily quota.
