Opus audio — best quality per megabyte

🔒 Files never leave your device — everything runs in your browser.

Audio is produced in WAV and shipped in something smaller — and for web pages, open-source software, and license-free distribution, that something is OGG. Encoding straight from an uncompressed WAV is the ideal case: no inherited artifacts, one clean compression pass from the full signal.

The tool encodes the WAV with Opus — the strongest lossy codec in current use — inside an OGG container, entirely in your browser. Expect roughly a tenth of the WAV's size at transparent quality, and seamless looping when a player loops it: Opus adds none of the edge padding that makes looped MP3s stutter.

How it works

  1. Drop your file

Any common format, any size. Nothing is uploaded — the tool runs in your browser.

  2. Convert

Compatible files are repackaged instantly with zero quality loss; others are hardware-transcoded at high quality.

  3. Download

Your converted file is ready on your device — nothing to wait for, nothing to delete from a server.

Frequently asked questions

Will my sound loop cleanly after conversion?

Yes — the encoding adds no padding at file boundaries, so a WAV cut to loop perfectly keeps looping perfectly in players and web pages that loop it, unlike the same audio pushed through MP3.

What codec does the OGG contain, and does it matter?

Opus — the modern open standard. It matters to a handful of older tools that expect the legacy Vorbis codec in .ogg files; browsers, VLC, and current software play Opus natively. Test first if your target tool is old or picky.

What should stay WAV and what should become OGG?

Keep WAV for masters and anything still being edited; use OGG for copies that ship — the versions listeners hear. Full quality where it matters, small files where they count.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. ConvertUno runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your file never leaves your computer or phone — there is no upload at all.

Is it really free, with no watermark?

Yes. Processing happens on your device, so serving you costs us almost nothing — no watermark, no account, no file-size limit, no daily quota.
