Inside Argentina you bring no photo: RENAPER offices capture your picture, fingerprints, and signature at the appointment, for both the passport and the DNI. The classic foto 4×4 is still official, though — RENAPER's own regulation defines the document photo as a 4×4 cm square on a plain white matte background, front view, half bust, head uncovered — and it's what you bring elsewhere: tourist visa applications officially want two 4×4 colour prints, and several Argentine consulates abroad (Madrid and Rome among them) still require printed fotos carnet at passport appointments even though they also take biometrics. Check your consulate; the first preset renders 4×4 at 600 DPI (945×945).
Two honest correctives to what photo sites still repeat: the light blue background and three-quarter profile belong to the pre-2009 DNI — the current spec is front view on white — and Argentina publishes no month-count for recency, only "recent". The AVE travel authorization needs no photo at all (it takes a PDF of your passport pages). Composition: no glasses per consular checklists, religious or medical head coverings fine when the main facial features stay visible. This tool resizes exactly and does nothing else — it warns rather than silently stretching a face, and runs entirely on your device.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to bring a photo for an Argentine passport or DNI?
In Argentina, no — RENAPER captures everything at the appointment. Abroad it depends on the consulate: Los Angeles, Miami, and New York photograph you live, while Madrid asks for two fotos carnet on white and Rome wants one 4×4 front-view print, no hat, no glasses. Check your consulate's own checklist before the appointment.
What is a foto 4×4?
Argentina's official document photo: a 4×4 cm square, colour, front view, half bust, plain white matte background, head uncovered — straight from RENAPER's regulation. Tourist visa applications want two identical prints; the preset renders the size at 600 DPI, so print the same file twice.
Does the AVE need a photo?
No — the electronic travel authorization asks for a complete, legible PDF of your passport pages, not a portrait. Any site selling an "AVE photo size" is inventing a requirement.
Is the light blue background still used?
No — that's the pre-2009 DNI style (light blue, three-quarter profile) that photo sites keep republishing. The current official spec is front view on plain white; only one consular checklist still accepts celeste as an alternative. Shoot on white, and note this tool resizes only — it can't recolour a background, and says so.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. ConvertUno runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your file never leaves your computer or phone — there is no upload at all.
Is it really free, with no watermark?
Yes. Processing happens on your device, so serving you costs us almost nothing — no watermark, no account, no file-size limit, no daily quota.
